Committee Participation Information

Eligible Ohio PK–12 educators and educator preparation faculty will be appointed by the State Board of Education of Ohio to participate in assessment development activities.

Opportunities for participation include:

Content Advisory Committee member. A Content Advisory Committee of educators who are subject matter experts will be established for each assessment. Each Content Advisory Committee will review assessment materials, including frameworks and assessment items. Content Advisory Committee members will also assist the State Board of Education of Ohio by recommending passing scores for each of the assessments.

Bias Review Committee member. Educators will review assessment materials for potential sources of bias according to established review criteria pertaining to assessment content, language, offensiveness, stereotypes, and inclusiveness. Members will make recommendations that will help prevent potential bias that would disadvantage a person because of their gender, race, nationality, ethnicity, religion, age, sexual orientation, disability, or cultural, economic, or geographic background.
